Lingerie that I want this Valentines Day

This won’t be a Valentines Day wishlist. While I love the idea of red bras, I’m never as into them in real life as I am in principle. Pink has never been my thing either. In general, if someone wanted to gift me lingerie for Valentines Day, that would be a terrible gift. So I’m just going give my opinion on what the hottest bras out there for the bust on the slightly fuller side.

1) Lepel is one of those brands that always sits in the back of my mind. I never think about it as much as I think about brands that fit my shape well like Freya and Ewa Michalak or as much as some of the more aesthetically pleasing brands out there like All Undone or Fortnight. I shouldn’t ever been shocked when they turn out a beautiful style, but nevertheless I was when they turned out the Rosey:

2) I have never thought of Wonderbra as a particularly delicate brand, and I frequently forget that they do in fact carry bras in my size. I was browsing through Amazon’s intimates when I saw this, and it came in my size. While the Wonderbra Natural Push Up doesn’t look supportive, it still looks badass don’t you think?

3) It has recently occurred to me that even though I wear 32FF approximately these days, by breasts are relatively self supporting. This opened a new realm of possibilities, including giving patronage to some of the talented independent lingerie designers with storefronts on Etsy. I positively adore Sophie Hines and their androgynous designs with straight lines. Hopefully I can make the Geometric Ascension Bra mine.

4) Ewa Michalak is a perennial favorite, and with good reason. They have one of the largest size ranges in the world that have been proven to work equally well in a wide range of sizes (sadly we’re not to the point where they can work on all shapes, but we’re getting there). I am a sucker for bras with an outline and the new SM Kusidełko is no exception to this rule.

5) Gossard always comes up with a nice mix of girlish and elegant. Their Rochelle Waspie Suspender definitely falls into the ladder catergory.

6) Sugarshape is a brand that never quite gained notoriety in the English speaking bra world. Their idea was to churn out design possibilities and have their customers vote on them and the designs that get the most votes go to production. It’s a fantastic idea and they certainly deserve more attention, as their bras appear to be well made and beautiful.  Additionally, they have a sizing system where instead of band and cup sizes, which can get downright confusing, they use underbust and bust measurements to make the process of finding a bra that fits well less daunting. Their BH Emmy is such a beautiful color and like everything else on this list, I must get it.

7) Marlies Dekkers has always been known for their stringy geometric designs and liberal use of the cage bra. I have had my eye on their signature triangle thong for a long time now.

My Back To School Wishlist (which might as well be a beautiful beige bra list)

Claudette Dessous in Sandstone and Navy

It’s such a cute colorway and it would go excellently with my skin tone.  The navy makes is interesting.

Chantelle C Chic Plunge

I have decided that a padded bra in my skin tone would probably be a good thing.  Recently I realized that I have been reverse letterphobia-ing it up and 32FF and 30G fit me better (sometimes 32G and 30GG), so this actually comes in my size.  It’s interesting and pretty.  I would never buy a boring bra.

Non-wired Freya Deco

Image

I’m hitting you guys over the head with the whole beige bra thing, but for whatever reason, beige is really appealing to me in an interesting color sort of way (call me weird, I wouldn’t blame you).  Because I don’t have a lot of projection, the non-wired will probably work on me (not that the plunge doesn’t, it’s actually a pretty great fit on me).  Some days I just don’t want to wear underwire, but without having a strange shape.

Look at how interesting that lace pattern is!  It’s quite lovely.

Again with the interesting lace patterns.  I feel like the Polish companies are the only ones who’ll do this.

Milena Toffino

There are so many reasons I love this bra.

1) The center gore ribbon

2) The color

3) The design

4) The touches of orange

5) The vertical seams

6) Interesting shape of the top cup

Mimi Holliday Bisou Bisou Kiss Maxi Bra

I just love the contrast on this bra and the elegance.  Really, I would kill for just about anything by Mimi Holliday, but this one is the best one that comes in my size.

Lepel Lucille

This simple peach colored bra won my heart over in less than a second.  The contrast of the seams and the overall softness appeals to me.  If I actually kept my word about modifying bras to fit me, I would get this in 34F (because this comes in a limited size range) and modify the band, but I know I wouldn’t in the end.  It’s a shame that it just randomly ends at F.  Makes no sense.  They make sister sizes of large cup sizes, why can’t they just make it in those sizes with shorter bands.

Panache Envy

As someone who presents androgynously, this bra holds a special place in my heart.  While frills are nice, a change from that without being boring is the stuff of my dreams.  this menswear inspired piece is something I would love.  +DD lingerie designers really need to understand that not all women want to wear bras that are overly feminine, and that some of us would prefer a bit of masculinity sometimes!  Yes, it has flowers, but it’s the super high-waisted underwear that really makes this piece.

And lastly…

The electric light blue and the contrast are so cute!  The pattern reminds me of Moorish architecture, it’s just so unique.

Ewa Michalak Giveaway at Venusian Glow and other stuff

Just so you guys know, there’s an Ewa Michalak giveaway on one of my favorite blogger’s blog, Venusian Glow, at http://www.venusianglow.com/2012/12/ewa-michalak-bra-giveway.html.

In other news, I have a ton bras that I have received but not reviewed.  Since I’m on break from school, I’ll have more time  to review!  In addition, I have more bras headed by way, including one from the mystical unicorn of the bra world (or at least my opinion), Fauve.  I’m so excited!

Happy New Years!

Since everyone else seems to be doing this and it just seems like a fun exercise

So everyone else in the bra blogging community seems to be making their wishlists.  What do I want?

1) Masquerade Delphi in this season’s colorway:

I’m guessing I would be 30GG in this, but I’m not sure, since Masquerade is way out of my price range at $60 on figleaves.

2) Panache Andorra in either:

Beige

Because I need something that matches my skin tone.  It’s pretty, it gives a nice shape, it’s flexible.

Or I would like it in this beautiful mint green colorway:

3) Bravissimo Boudoir Beau bra in the beautiful black red:

4) Masquerade Maia because it looks like one of those pools where the rock is a beautiful turquoise and HOLY CRAP look at the shape!

5) Masquerade Rosetti

You noticing a pattern here yet.  I’ve been positively lusting after everything and anything Masquerade, it’s getting a little bit weird at this point.  But I have yet to find anyone who doesn’t fall in lust immediately with the Rosetti:

6) Ewa Michalak PL Czarnt Kropek

I was really upset when I learned they ran out of my size in this forever.  A girl can dream:

7) Comexim Magic Blue

Isn’t it pretty?

8) Curvy Kate Desire in Seafoam

This is coming for the Spring/Summer 2013, but I want it now!  I need a plunge so badly, it looks so soft and it really fits the bill for pretty, and comfortable looking bra:

9) Panache Sports Bra in Black

Let’s get real, sports bras are necessary, yet I manage to convince myself out of buying them every time I get the chance:

10) Panache Harmony in Red

I’m sure you’re probably puzzled by this, but it looks comfortable, and I get tired of sheer sometimes.  Regular fabric would be a nice change:
